Helpful Hints and FAQs

Shopping bags: We often get donations of plastic and shopping bags that are available at the start of the line. But it is helpful to bring your own. Bring some for breads, vegetables and fruits, and for meats. Bring insulated bags for cold items and dairy. Bring larger shopping bags for larger items, like pastries and pantry items.

No dogs please: We love them, but they don’t belong in our fresh foods bank. Service dogs welcome with proper credentials.

FAQ—How much food will I get for the $10 fee*? Most participants in our programs on Saturdays and Tuesdays (Veterans only) will leave with a shopping cart full of foods.

FAQ—How many items can I choose at each food station? Every week is different. The number of items that participants can choose at each station varies based on the amount of donated food items we receive.

FAQ—How “fresh” is fresh? Our food donor partners are eager to move product when their new product has arrived. We receive foods on a daily/weekly basis and present them in our farmer’s market-style fresh foods bank each week for your choosing.
