What We Do

Hands of Hope Fresh Foods Bank procures, warehouses, and distributes fresh foods to local participants, children, senior citizens, those trying to make ends meet, disabled, homeless, veterans, and families in communities throughout Reno and Sparks, Nevada.

Every dollar of the $10 Shared Maintenance Fee goes to pay for our infrastructure and vehicles. We receive no government funding. All of our staff are gracious volunteers that give of their time. Each week they work diligently to present all of the donated products—fresh, close-dated, and inventory that is wholesome but can’t be sold, like produce, dairy, meats, pastries and deli items—in a farmer’s market style where participants can choose the items they need.

Thanks to our compassionate partners for helping us to fulfill our mission. Donated foods are handled properly. First by our a 24' refrigerated truck and two panel vans used to transport donations safely by our trained staff—then, at our warehouse during receiving and distribution in our refrigerated/frozen foods storage, and in our dry goods storage. Finally, donations are quickly distributed to individuals and families via our weekly programs—Nutritious food at a low cost for those in need.

Hands of Hope and Operation Feed Back Fresh Foods Banks have served more than 10,000 deserving people in our communities. We look forward to serving many more into the future.
